AI Literacy through 3d Virtual World Building
Thursday October 9, 2025 1:00pm - 2:00pm EDT
Ready to make AI fun, creative, and accessible for all ages? In AI Story Studio, students in grades 3–12 use AI tools to dream up sequels to favorite stories and bring them to life in 3D virtual worlds. Along the way, they learn how AI works, how to use it responsibly, and even how to start programming with AI—no experience needed. Come see how storytelling becomes a launchpad for AI literacy, student voice, and some wildly creative world building.

Spooktacular STEAM: Haunted Houses, Tricks, Traps & Tech
Friday October 10, 2025 8:00am - 9:00am EDT
Let's stir up spooky delight in this hands-on Halloween STEM fright! Participants craft haunted houses with lights that flicker, trap doors that drop, and googly-eyed ghost-bots that sneak by. While building, we'll explore engineering, energy, circuits, and motion—and explore literacy, math, and tech extensions for deeper learning. Participants leave with a haunted prototype, inspiration and the resources to bring seasonal, cross-curricular creativity into their classrooms.

Adv. Tinkercad: Electronics
Friday October 10, 2025 1:00pm - 2:00pm EDT
Tinkercad is often used for creating 3D objects that can be 3D printed. But it can also be used to teach basic electronics all the way up to coding Arduinos in a virtual environment. This session will be a quick run-through of the four units I cover with middle school students each year. This is a hands-on session and participants should be ready to play along in their own Tinkercad account.

SDGs & Globally Competent CS learners
Friday October 10, 2025 2:10pm - 3:10pm EDT
Why should we be building globally competent students & what the heck are the SDGs? Bring yourself, a device to connect to the internet, and a curious mind as we discuss globally competent students and the SDGs. You'll leave with tools including the framework, examples from a Fullbright HS classroom, links and resources, and more. Engaging students in relevant and glocal opportunities is an amazing way to teach any subject: including computer science! This will be an interactive session.
